Media Jobs

Looking for a job in Media?

Traditionally, media jobs are associated with written press, television and radio. Currently, however, the greatest demand is for employees in new media, advertising and publishing, as these are sectors which are constantly growing in today’s more commercialised, global society. For example, media companies are constantly employing persuasive and customer-focused individuals to sell their advertising space and market their product. New media companies are recruiting for roles which, for example, involve the development and delivery of their e-communications, as well as the analysis of data. There are also several management opportunities available.

A wide range of jobs are also available in publishing, which deal with each stage of the publishing process, from gaining rights to publish certain materials, to selecting and proof reading final features.

Knowledge of the media industry coupled with relevant experience strengthens an application for a position within media companies, notably in television, radio and written press. In these sectors, administrative posts, for example, are often in need of filling. Yet more public roles, such as journalists and presenters are also achievable with a similarly good standard of experience, as well as the relevant industry-recognised qualifications.

The very nature of media means that it has to respond to constantly changing conditions, so diligent, enthusiastic and professional candidates are sought after by media companies.

Given the sheer scope of potential media jobs, salaries vary greatly, but it is certain that this is a potentially very lucrative career.
